Thomas W. Mudra, 60, Dies Friday

Thomas W. Mudra, 60, died at the Spencer Hospital Friday, May 12, from the effects of paralytic stroke suffered several days previously.

He had been a resident of Wyoming for many years, having come here from Nebraska as a young man and homesteaded north of Keeline.

During the following years he divided his time between Nebraska and Wyoming, doing ranch work. After 1930 he operated a Rawleigh agency for a couple of years, in this locality.

Thomas William Mudra was born August 25, 1889, at Springview, Neb., the son of Joseph and Rose Anna Mudra. Much of his
boyhood was spent at Burton, Neb.

In 1944 he took up residence in Lusk with his mother and brother, Martin. His mother preceded him in death and he was making his home with his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bates, at the time of his death.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bates, and Mrs. Anna Penn, and three brothers, Jim, John and Martin Mudra, all of Lusk, and several nieces and nepbews.

Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Sunday, May 14, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Mann and Grace Flint, pastors of the Open Bible Standard Church, officiated. The music was furnished by Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Miss Bessie Lumsden, accompanied by Mrs. A.F. DeCastro.

Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery and the casket bearers were Harry Wampler, Clarence Lee, John Irons, Ralph Marshall, Albert Penn and Pat Miller.
