Dorothy G. Mader

Dorothy G. Mader, daughter of Jacob J. Wasserburger and Helen Gayhart Wasserburger, was born near Montrose, in Sioux County, Nebr. March 6, 1897 and died Feb. 9,1984 at Ponderosa Villa In Crawford, Nebr. She lived her early years at the store at Montrose.

On October 16, 1916, she was united in marriage to Henry I. Mader, and they resided on the Mader Ranch until 1946 when they moved to Greeley, Colo.

She moved to Edgemont. S. Dak. in 1968 and lived there until 1975, when she took up residence at Ponderosa Villa. She was a devout member of the Catholic faith, and a devoted mother and grandmother.

Burial service was held at St. Johns Catholic Church in Crawford and interment was at the Montrose Cemetery Feb, 13 at 10 a.m. with Father Carlson officiating.

Survivors include her two sons, William and Jerome (Jiggs) of Crawford; one brother, Edward Wasserburger of Pioneer Manor of Hay Springs, Nebr.; her twin sister, Florentine Wasserburger of St. Josephs Gerontology Center of Alliance Nebr.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Louis and Wilfred Wasserburger, and one son, Merlin H. Mader.

Chamberlain Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been established to the Dawes County Right to Life or Ponderosa Villa.
