Marie Wilson Dies in Lusk Saturday

Mrs. Marie E. Wilson, resident of this community since 1936, died at the Spencer Hospital Aug. 15 at 12:00 a.m. after being an invalid for 15 years, and funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the chapel of the Peet Mortuary.

The concluding rites were conducted by the Rev. O. F. Shroyer, pastor of the Church of God, at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Emerson Bonner sang two duet selections, "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God to Thee." Mrs. J. P. Watson was chapel organist.

Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers: J. P. Costlow, Charles Hitshew, Paul Heany, Bryan Burge, Lafe Culver and Donley Unruh.

Mrs. Wilson had suffered from totally crippling arthritis for a duration of 15 years.

Marie Ellen Perry was born Feb. 24, 1895 in Gordon, Nebr., the eldest child of Allen W. Perry and Bertha Stella Keown Perry. She received her schooling in Gordon.

In Chadron, Nebr., Mar. 12, 1914, she was married to John Roby, and to this union were born two daughters, Iva Evelin and Ada Mae. The Roby family made its home in Crawford, Nebr. for a time.

In 1920 she was married to Glen L. Wilson and moved with her family to Lusk in 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an adopted daughter, Annabel Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson's survivors include: her daughters, Mrs. Bud Butler of Lusk, Mrs. Ada Smith of Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Dave Schmidt of Scottsbluff and Mrs. Edna McIntyre of Denver; six brothers, Edward of Newport, Nebr., Bill and Tom of Gordon, Nebr., Lester and Charles of Woodland, Calif.; and Claude of Jacksonville, Ore.; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Out of town relatives here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Bill Perry and sons of Gordon, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clauson of Chadron; Mrs. Dave Schmidt and son Dale of Scottsbluff; Mr. and Mrs. Gene McCabe and baby of Torrington.
