Milo Wolff Dies In Lusk Sunday

Milo E. Wolff, a long time resident of the Whitman community, died at the Niobrara Memorial hospital Sunday, Nov 8, at 4:45 in the afternoon. Mr. Wolff had been in failing health for several months and plans were being made to take him to Denver, but death came before he could be moved.

Mr. Wolff was born Mar. 23, 1894 at Crawford, Nebr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Wolff, and grew to young manhood in that community. In 1916 he came to Wyoming and settled on a homestead 35 miles northeast of Lusk. The following year he enlisted in the army of World War I and was soon sent overseas, where he served in the Chateau Thierry sector in defense of Paris, fought in the Battle of Soissons and the St. Mihiel sector and was wounded at Blanc Mont Ridge. Although after being wounded he was never returned to the front lines, he was among the last of the men to be returned home. He received his discharge at Fort D. A. Russell, Apr. 27, 1919.

He returned to his homestead after the war and Aug. 29, 1920 was married to Miss Jessie E. Newlin at Hot Springs, S. D.

They continued to improve the homestead and built it into a ranch where they have since resided where they engaged in farming and stock raising.

He is preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Surviving him are his wife and two brothers, Fred Wolff of Scottsbluff, and John Wolff of Wilder, Ida., also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Harrison Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 2:15 p.m. with the Rev. Jacob Nein officiating.
