Mrs. Raymond Riley dies at ranch home Thursday

Mrs. Raymond Riley, 69, died last Thursday at her ranch home 25 miles southwest of Harrison.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Harrison with the Rev. Wayne Tieszen officiating, and burial was in the Harrison Cemetery.

Merle Elizabeth Mason Riley was born Sept. 14, 1908 to Ethel Robinson and John Wesley Mason in Iowa where the parents had gone for the birth of the child. They returned to Sioux County when Merle was two weeks old.

She was married to Raymond Riley on May 31, 1928, at the old Sioux County courthouse by County Judge J. H. Wilhermdorfer. Two daughters were born.

She is survived by her husband and the two daughters, Mrs. Doc (Bonnie) Lay, Dwyer, Wyo., and Mrs. Jack (Rita) Rohen of Omaha; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Pauline) Davidson of Eagle Point, Ore., Mrs. Bob (Nina)Fulton of Paradise, Calif., and Mrs. Paul (Betty) Stout of Roundup, Mont., five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
