Margaret Briscoe

Margaret Briscoe, 74, passed away at the Amie Holt Nursing Home in Buffalo on Aug, 10, 1987.

She was born Aug, 2, 1913 in Sioux City, IA. In 1915 she moved with her parents William and Jessie Mahnke to a homestead south of Keeline. She attended the Keeline School.

She married Carl Briscoe on Jan. 4, 1930, in Casper. The Briscoes moved to Lusk in 1948 where Margaret was an active member of the Royal Neighbors. In April 1970, they moved to Dayton. Carl preceded Mrs. Briscoe in death in 1979.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, a half-sister, Helen Clemens, and a half-brother, Frank Mahnke.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jennette Farrington of Kaycee; one son, David "Pete" Briscoe of Dayton; one sister, Katherine Swan of Science Hill, KY; two brothers, Arthur Mahnke of Lusk and Henry Mahnke of Denver; three granddaughters, three grandsons, 10 great-grandchildren, plus numerous other relatives and friends.

For those who wish, memorials to the Niobrara County Nursing Home or to the memorial of their choice will be appreciated by the family.
