Randall "Randy" Lloyd Copas

Randy passed away March 17, 2016, at W.M.C., from A.R.D.S., with family and friends by his side.

No services will be held, as per his request. Cremation has taken place, and a marker at the Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, will be placed.

Randy was born November 20, 1947, in San Juaquin, CA. to Joella and Lloyd "Cowboy" Copas. Randy married Dawn Penfield May 17, 1978, in Elko. NV. They played music on the road for 23 years, the Nevada Circuit, U.S.O. Tour, and opening for a variety of country music stars. Randy's goal was to get his father in the Country Music Hall of Fame. He was a decorated, wounded Vietnam Veteran, serving 8 years in the Army. Two tours in Vietnam, with awards including, Purple Heart, Bronze Star with V Device, Bronze Star Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

In 1998, at the age of 50, he went back to college, completing his Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, from the U.W.C.C. in 2002. He then made 52 trips to Denver University, to get his Master's in Social Work and Addictions, in early 2004. He worked at Central Wyoming Counseling Center, in Casper for 9 years. Randy was a member of the Elks and Eagles clubs here in Casper. He was an excellent counselor, and cared about every one of his clients, receiving many thank you cards and acknowledgement out in the public, after they had turned their lives around. He held a second degree black belt in TaéKwon Do Karaté and loved the martial arts. He studied the bible, and believed you are judged by how you lived and treated people in life.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, uncle and brother.

He is survived by his wife Dawn, and her stepchildren, Sherry (Ron) Galla, Shelbie and Alysha; son, Randy Jr, and his children, Leah, Zac, and Brittany, all of San Dimas, CA; sister Jan (Zane) Azbarea, niece and nephews in Las Vegas, NV and CA; brother Jack of Modesto, niece and nephews in CA and Montana, and many cousins and relatives from the Copas family in Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Michigan area; father in law, Luther Penfield of Lusk, mother in law Barbara Penfield of Douglas, brother in laws Les, Jamey, Dick and Dean Penfield, all of Wyoming, and nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and Lusk relatives and friends.

Please donate, in his memory, to the Casper Humane Society, or your local animal shelter.

When you hear a favorite song of yours that he used to sing for you, smile and think what a great guy he was.
