Mrs. Ella Dean Resident for 69 Years, Dies

Mrs. Ella Dean, 69, died in the Spencer Hospital in Lusk last Thursday from Apoplexy.

Rosary Services for her were held Friday evening at 8:00 at the Peet chapel. Funeral services were held from St. Leo's Catholic Church Saturday morning at 11:00 with Father O'Conner officiating.

A high mass of Requiem was sung by members of the choir composed of Mrs. James Barrett, Mrs. Carl Bruch, Miss Pauline Bruch, Pamela Kuhn, Mrs. Marvin Bozovich, W. D. Wasserburger and Jack McMaster. Mrs. Henry Wasserburger Sr. was organist.

Burial was in the family plot in the Lusk cemetery.

Pall bearers were Richard Pfister, Jack Pfister, Jim Pfister, Donald Olinger and Henry Wasserburger, Jr., Charles Pfister, Bob McGee and Sam Hale, all nephews of Mrs. Dean.

Ellen (Ella) Elizabeth Dean was born October 12, 1893 at Node, the daughter of John Pfister and Ellen Arnold Pfister. She was one of the second set of twins born to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Pfister.

She attended grade school in Node and high school in Lusk and in Junction City, Kans. She married Carl Dean October 30, 1930; they lived northwest of Manville until 1941, when they moved to the John Pfister place where they remained several years before taking residence at their permanent ranch home east of Node.

They were the parents of one son, Carl, who died November 1950. Her husband died in 1947.

She was taken ill in January and spent six weeks in the Spencer Hospital, thinking therapy might help. She was moved to the De-Paul Hospital in Cheyenne where she spent three weeks with little results so she was returned to the Spencer hospital to be near her relatives and friends.

She was a member of St. Mary's Circle and the Node Homemakers Club and a life member of St. Leo's Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sisters; Mrs. Jane Joy of Kaycee, Mrs. Frances Anderson of Long Beach, Calif. and Mrs. Anne Wasserburger of Hat Creek. Four brothers, Valentine of Node, Richard Pfister of Edgemont, William Pfister of Billings and Edwin Pfister of Hat Creek and a large number of nieces and nephews and cousins.

Two brothers, Vincent and John and two brothers in infancy, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Olinger preceded her in death.

Among the out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. William Pfister of Billings, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Arnold, Valentine, Nebr.; Mrs. Jane Joy, Kaycee; Dr. and Mrs. Charles Pfister and Mrs. John Pfister Sr., Sheridan; Mr. and Mrs. James Ryan, Denver; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Olinger, Cheyenne; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tarrington and Mrs. and Mrs. Kieth Tarrington, Crawford; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Brown, Douglas; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pfister and Sam Hale of Edgemont; Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McGee, Laramie, James Pfister Jr., Milford, Nebr.
