Earl Hopkins Dies In Billings July 4

Earl J. Hopkins, 73, died in Billings, Mont., July 4. Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Mortuary of Lusk Monday at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiated.

Mrs. J. P. Watson furnished organ music and accompanied Mrs. Dean Glandt and Mrs. A. F. DeCastro as they sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages."

Casket bearers were grandsons Gene Snell, Wayne Hopkins, Mike Hopkins, John Hopkins, Tom Hopkins and Harold Martin. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.

Mr. Hopkins was born June 16, 1895, at Tildes, Nebr., the son of Elmer and Lydia Hopkins.

His early life was spent around Eastern Nebraska. He married Josephine Bruner at O'Neill, Nebr., May 6, 1920. They were the parents of seven children. He and his wife moved to Wyoming in 1927.

His parents, wife and one grandchild died previously.

Survivors include his seven children; Edwin J. of Douglas; Eva Jordan of Alliance; John E. of Rapid City; William E. of Billings; Betty Snell of Wiley, Tex.; Joy Anderson of Lusk and Lois Gossett of Milpitas, Calif.; three sisters, 20 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
