Mrs. Hopkins Dies in Nebr.

Mrs. Lydia Hopkins, 93, of Niobrara, Nebr., died January 15 at the Lundberg Memorial Hospital at Creighton, Nebr. Funeral services were held at Niobrara last Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. after which the body was brought to Lusk where services were held at Lusk at the Peet Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. Friday. Burial was in the Manville cemetery.

Services were rendered by the Elders, Roger Clucken, Charles S. Bouch and Floyd E. Young, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Lusk.

Mrs. J. P. Watson furnished organ music and accompanied Mrs. Floyd Young and Mrs. Bruce Gardiner as they sang "Rock of Ages" and "In the Garden."

Casket bearers were Bill Hopkins, John Hopkins, Ronnie Burns, Robert Knutson, Jerry Crichton and Merlin Johnson.

Mrs. Hopkins, daughter of Samuel and Charlotte McCormick, was born at Clearwater, Nebr., Aug. 20, 1874. The family lived for many years on a farm near Tilden, Nebr. Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins moved to Manville in 1927 and lived there until Mr. Hopkin's death in 1930. Mrs. Hopkins moved to Niobrara, Nebr., where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Knutson and Mr. Knutson until about six years ago when she entered the Thierolf Rest Home.

Surviving are one son Earl of Billings; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Nina) Knutson, Niobrara, Mrs. Martin (Mattie) Farris, Colome, S. Dak., and Mrs. Russell (Velma) Burns, Ault, Colo., 25 grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Nathan (Lola) Wilson died previously.

She was a lifelong member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
