Services for Mrs. Whitman Held In Lusk Friday

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 for Mrs. Tina Dot Whitman, 85, of the Whitman community in eastern Niobrara County, who died November 4. The Peet Mortuary of Lusk was in charge of the arrangements. The Rev. Robert Boutwell of the Congregational Church of Lusk officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. J. P. Watson, organist, accompanied Mrs. Jim Rumney as she sang "In The Garden" and "Beyond The Sunset."

Casket bearers were Bunny Chard, Bob Fancher, George Atkinson, Dan Jordan, Donnie Kraft and Everett Thomas.

She was born March 30, 1884, in Warrensburg, Mo. to Mary and Milton Sprague. The early years of her life were spent in Warrensburg where she married Estel Whitman November 1, 1906. Following the marriage they moved to Crawford, Nebr. and in 1911 moved to a ranch in the Whitman Community which was then a part of Converse County. For the past two years she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Seaman of Lusk, and the past two weeks had been visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Gibbs of Casper, where she was taken ill and died in the Casper Hospital. She was a member of the Indian Creek Extension Club.

Her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister died previously.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gibbs of Casper; Mrs. Seaman of Lusk, and Mrs. Ollie Seaman of Harrison; one son, Milton of the Whitman community; one sister, Mrs. Louie Van Blarcum of Douglas; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
