Annette Hopkins Services Thursday

Mrs. Annette E. Hopkins, who died at Cheyenne Memorial Hospital Monday evening at 7:00, will be buried in the Lusk Cemetery Thursday with funeral services at the Peet Mortuary at 2:00 o'clock.

Mrs. Hopkins, who was telephone exchange operator at Manville for a time after the first World War, is a sister of Clair and Jess Rice of this community and has been well known here.

She was born at Pleasanton, Kansas, June 15, 1890, the daughter of Henry R. and Nettie Rice. She attended schools and grew to womanhood in that community. April 13, 1913 she was married to Jack Hopkins at Waco, Tex. One son, Harold J., now living at Cheyenne, was born to them. Her husband died in 1918 while serving in the army at a camp in Kansas.

It was after that when Mrs. Hopkins came to Manville to serve as telephone operator. She also worked in a similar capacity at Broadwater, Nebr. For 12 years she lived in Los Angeles, then came to Evanston, Wyo., to live with a sister, Mrs. Leah Anderson, and more recently went to Cheyenne for medical care and to be near her son.

Last Rites Held for Annette E. Hopkins

Last rites for Mrs. Annette E. Hopkins, who died in Cheyenne Feb. 25, were conducted from the Peet Chapel here last Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Lusk cemetery.

The Rev. Frank Schweissing, pastor of the Baptist church officiated, with the singers being Mrs. A.F. DeCastro and Mrs. Emerson Bonner with Mrs. J.P Watson as the organist.

The casket bearers were Glenn Erlewine, C.E. Marvin, Johnnie Thon, Charles Vaughn, Ralph McFarlane and Arthur Grimes.

Survivors include a son, Harold J. Hopkins of Cheyenne, a sister, Mrs. Leah Anderson of Evanston and two brothers, Clair and Jess Rice of Lusk.
