Joseph Mark Adams

Joseph Mark Adams was born Nov. 15, 1944 in Lusk, Wyoming to Lawrence W. Adams and Edna Barnes Adams of Van Tassell, Wyo. Joe Attended first through eighth grade in Van Tassell. He then attended high school at Niobrara County High School in Lusk, Wyoming, participating in wrestling and leather crafts, graduating in 1963. Joe married his high school sweetheart Nancy Burd on Oct. 7, 1963 in Max Inn, Idaho. He attended Eastern Wyoming Community College in Torrington where he received his Associates of Arts Degree. He then moved to Chadron, Neb., Sept. 1, 1970 where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Chadron State Teachers College. Joe taught at several rural schools in western Nebraska before settling in at Chadron to teach middle school. While teaching in Chadron he went on to receive his Masters of Science Degree at Chadron State College.

His oldest child James was born Oct. 5, 1964 in Lusk Wyoming. His daughter Jolene was born March 1, 1967 in Torrington, Wyo. His son Aaron Joseph was born on Nov. 12, 1983 in Chadron, Neb.

Joe's hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening, and volunteering for the fire department and the Elks Lodge in Chadron. He was a dedicated CPR instructor where he certified many people in the Chadron area. Later he became an EMT in Chadron, Nebraska.

In August 1985 Joe moved his family to Bruno, Arkansas where he taught Elementary at Cotter, Arkansas. Joe was the elementary principle at Western Grove, when he retired in 2006. After retiring he spent many hours riding four wheelers, gardening, canning, woodworking, traveling, and taking many cruises. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren, and watching his grandchildren play golf and many other sports.

On May 5, 2011, Joe passed away peacefully at his home. He leaves behind many family and friends that will miss him. Joe is survived by his son Jim Adams and wife Monica from Western Grove, Ark., His daughter Jo Butler from Berryville, Ark., and his son Aaron Adams and wife Candida from Flippin, Ark. Grandchildren Judy and Buddy McIntare from Berryville, Beth and Jody King from Berryville and Rachel Smith from Flippin, Ark. Three great grandchildren Amberlee and Koal McIntare from Berryville and Brandon Breedlove, from Piercetown, Ark., his brother Lloyd Adams and his wife Sharon from Van Tassell, Wyo., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Edna Adams. An infant sister Janice Edith Adams, sister Joy Ruth Buckley, sister Eunice Mae Miller, sister-in-law Mary Adams and brother-in-law Ivol Buckley, nephew Kenneth Hough and niece Jody Lynn Adams.
