Harriet Parmelia Barrett

The funeral mass for Harriet Parmelia Barrett, was held Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1992, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Cathedral. The rosary was said Monday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m.

Barrett, a Cheyenne resident since 1951, died Jan. 18, 1992, at DePaul Hospital. She was born July 21, 1922, in Lincoln, Neb. and was raised in Omaha. She graduated from Brownell Hall and was a member of the Omaha Junior League.

She attended William and Mary College and was a 50-year member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.

Barrett was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Francis Barrett, six sons, James Hays, Michael Dennis, Francis Donoghue, Patrick Curran and Joseph Holland, all of Cheyenne and Laurence Francis of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters, Alice Catherine Clement of Parker, Colo. and Mary Therese Garrett of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by two brothers, John Hays Holland of Norman, Okla. and Dr. Laurence Martin Holland of Los Alamos, N.M. In addition she is survived by 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence B. and Gertrude Holland.

Barrett was a member of the Bishop's Guild, the Cathedral Guild, the DePaul Hospital Guild and the Questers. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish.

Friends who wish may contribute to the American Cancer Society, the DePaul Hospital Guild or their favorite charity. Masses will be appreciated by the family.
