Carl E. Brown, Jr.

Carl E. Brown Jr. a lifelong resident of Northern Goshen County passed away October 11, 1998 at Torrington Community Hospital. Carl was born October 7, 1919 at the homestead ranch where he spent 79 years until his death. Carl was the son of Carl E. and Rose Brown. Carl attended Moore Springs School in the Moore Springs Community.

Carl was known for his love of family and many friends. He also loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. Many years ago Carl was well known for trailing cattle from Lusk to Fort Laramie for many neighbors, he also spent many hours breaking horses. Carl also helped on the thrashing crews for his neighbors.

On July 22, 1955 Carl and Mary Kay Rush were married in Cheyenne, Wyo. To this union a son Everett and daughter Carla was born.

He is preceded in death by his brother Kermit; sisters Annabelle Hoy and Hazel Eggers. Survivors include his wife Kay Brown of the family home; both children, son Everett and wife Terry Brown of Lusk; daughter Carla and husband Robert Brown also of Lusk; two grandchildren, Samantha Baty of Cheyenne, and George Brown of the family home; four step-grandchildren, Toni Kant of Glenrock, Hope Brown of Cheyenne, Diana Collar of Guernsey, Robert Brown Jr. of Montana; five great grandchildren; one brother Bill Brown of Sterling, Colo.; two sisters Berneice Cannichael of Arizona and Bonnie Hurst of Yoder; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl's family will remember him as having a heart as big as his hands.

The family would appreciate all memorials go to the Niobrara Ambulance Service and the Special Touch Program in care of Community Hospital in Torrington.
