On behalf of the library staff, Board, Foundation and Friends members we would like to thank all who attended the 85th Anniversary Open House of the Carnegie Building; we also extend a special thank you also to Chin Lash and Carla Stroh for providing music for the evening.

The Friends of the Library Annual Bake Sale will be held on Thursday, September 30 at Decker’s beginning at 3 p.m.

The NCLF Monday Night Football Fundraiser winners are posted in the library and on the library’s website at https://www.niobraracountylibrary.org. Winners to date include Olivia Noland, Rhonda Holdbrook and Shirley Wasson.

New books in the adult library include “Hear No Evil” by James Grippando, “Well of Darkness” by Margaret Weis, “McNally’s Bluff” by Vincent Lardo, “Fluke” by Christopher Moore, “The Mammoth Cheese” by Sheri Holman, “Homegrown Democrat” by Garrison Keillor, “A Table in the Presence” by Carey H. Cash, “Bringing in the Hay” by David Asson, and “The Wisdom of Forgiveness” by Dalai Lama.

For the young adult, there is “The Sacrifice,” “The Lost One,” and “Moon Demon” by Lynn Ewing.

Our junior reader’s will enjoy “Amber Brown Sees Red” by Paula Danziger, “Cavern of Fear” by Emily Rodda, “One Day You’ll Know,” by Lauren Brooke and “The Wild One” by Terri Farley .

For our younger readers, there is “The Spy Who Barked” by George Edward Stanley, and “Henry and Mudge and the Tall Tree House” by Cynthia Rylant.

“Grins and Giggles” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, October 5, 2004. Storyhour is held each Tuesday throughout the year from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m children 3 through kindergarten.
