The Annual Friends of the Library Book Sale and Ice Cream Social will be held Saturday, June 24 with the book sale beginning at 8 a.m. in front of the old jail. There is a wide variety of materials so be
sure to stop by and check it out. The Ice Cream Social begins at 11 a.m. Local author, David Chapman will also be on hand to sign copies of his new book “The Man Who Carried a Drum.” Be sure to stop by and visit with David.

The day will also kick off raffle ticket sales for a hand-sewn quilt donated by Dorothy Keenan. The squares are over 70 years-old and were just recently put together into quilt form by Judy Hamaker and other volunteers. Children’s Librarian, Yvonne Jensen has also donated a hand-crocheted tablecloth for the raffle. Be sure to drop in and take a look during library open hours, we will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 24th.

Thank you everyone who donated items to the Rummage Sale! Proceeds benefit the Niobrara County Library Foundation Endowment Fund.

There is still room for players in the No-Limit Texas Hold’em fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at the Fairgrounds. Play is limited to the first 50 paid players so be sure to
stop by the library and get your ticket or mail it to the Niobrara County Library Foundation, Box 510, Lusk, WY 82225. For more information contact Tom Dooper, Liz Kaltenheuser or the library.

“Drowned Wednesday” and “Sir Thursday” by Garth Nix is available for young adults.

“The Stowaway Solution” by Gordon Korman and “Making the Save” by Matt Christopher are available for our junior readers.

Our youngest readers will be sure to like “Short and Tall” by Dori Chaconas and “Making the Save” by Matt Christopher.

“Celebrate the 4th of July” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, June 27 — Plan to attend! The library will be closed on Tuesday, July 4th.
