It’s “Movie Day at the Library!” Three films will be shown on Wednesday, December 27. “The Fox and the Hound 2” will be shown at 1 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. “Invincible” will be shown and the independent film, “Something Like Happiness” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. This film is Czech with English subtitles.

The library will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2007 for New Year’s. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, including Storyhour at 10 a.m. We wish you all a Happy New Year!

Recent new books include “Hundred Dollar Baby” by Robert B. Parker, “Lisey’s Story” by Stephen King, “Born in Death” by J. D. Robb, “Wild Fire” by Nelson DeMille, “The Gods of Newport” by John Jakes, “Felt Making and Wool Magic” by Jorie Johnson, “Thimbleberries Quilting for Harvest” by Lynette Jensen, “Hobbled Stirrups” by Jane Burnett Smith and “Venison Lover’s Cookbook: The Complete Guide to Dressing and Cooking Venison.”

Junior readers will enjoy “Fairest” by Gail Carson Levine, “Bread and Roses, Too” by Katherine Paterson and “The Somebodies” by N. E. Bode.

Our youngest readers will be sure to like “The Puppy Who Wanted a Boy” by Jane Thayer, “How Santa Lost His Job” by Stephen Krensky and “The Berenstain Bears Save Christmas” by Stan Berenstain.

“Snowmen” is the focus for Storyhour on Tuesday, January 2. Storyhour is held every Tuesday from 10 to 11 p.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
