The Annual No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournament sponsored by the library foundation will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 11 a.m. at the Fairgrounds. There is still room for players so be sure to come by. The entry fee is $35 and add-ons and re-buys are extra. Lunch is included for players and is available for the public for $5.00, served at 1 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who picked up books at the annual Friends of the Library book sale last week. Just about $1800 was raised to be used to purchase new books; funds raised at the Ice Cream Social will be directed to the Wyoming Public Library Endowment Challenge 3:1 match. To date, just over $75,000 has been raised towards the 98,550 goal. Once the goal is reached libraries are eligible for the bonus incentive of $100,000. Fundraising will continue until an additional $33,333 is raised or until 2.3 million is raised collectively among county libraries in Wyoming. A new romance book is “Heartless” by Diana Palmer. As a teenager Gracie worshipped her step-brother, Jason. Now the wealthy owner of Comanche Wells Ranch, Jason is back and falling in love with Gracie, but she harbors a shameful secret that makes her afraid to trust his love.

Other new fiction books include “Storm Glass” by Maria V. Snyder, “Gone Tomorrow” by Lee Child, “Assegai” by Wilbur Smith, “Road Dogs” by Elmore Leonard, “The Branch and the Scaffold” by Loren D. Estleman and “The Sign” by Raymond Khoury.

New adult non-fiction books are “The Core Balance Diet: 4 Weeks to Boost Your Metabolism and Lose Weight For Good” by Marcella Pick, “Broken, a Love Story: Horses, Humans, and Redemption on the Wind River Reservation” by Lisa Jones and “Secrets to Success in Country Music: the Insiders Guide to Launching Your Career” by Gabriel Farago.

New books for the young adults are “Broken Soup” by Jenny Valentine and “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas: a Fable” by John Boyne.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new titles “The Ghost at the Drive-In Movie” by Gertrude Chandler Warner, “The Tangled Web” by Kathryn Reiss and “Megan the Monday Fairy” by Daisy Meadows. Also available is: “I am Ironman” by Catherine Hapka, “Spider-man Versus the Vulture” by Susan Hill and “Read a Rhyme, Write a Rhyme” by Jack Prelutsky.

“All Aboard!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, July 14 and Thursday, July 16. Storyhour is held on Tuesday and Thursday throughout the year from from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten.
