Jance is “Betrayal of Trust.” A video clip, showing a teenage girl being strangled with a blue scarf is discovered on a phone belonging to Josh, the step-grandson of Washington State’s Governor. The Governor turns to J.P. Beaumont and Mel Soames for help. Josh swears that he has never seen the victim before but during a search of his bedroom a blue scarf is discovered. The next night Josh is found hanging in his bedroom.
