The library will host an afterschool program for kindergarten aged children on Monday’s this fall. The program begins on Monday, September 12 and continues through October 24. Held from right after school until 4:30, the program will feature stories, activities, crafts and snacks.
“Doorway to Adventure” is the theme for the afterschool programs for children in the first through fifth grades. This series begins on September 6 and continues through October 27 and is held each Tuesday for children in the first and second grades and on Thursday for third, fourth and fifth graders. Call to register your children as space is limited.

New non-fiction books are “Working the Land: the Stories of Ranch and Farm Women in the Modern American West” by Sandra K. Schackel, “So Much to Say: 20 Years on the Road: Dave Matthews Band” by Nikki Van Noy and “World War Two Will Not Take Place” by Bill James.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books: “Yatimah” by Catherine Hapka, “I Survived: the Shark Attack of 1916” by Lauren Tarshis and “The Candy Makers” by Wendy Mass.
