“Treasure Buddies” will be shown at the library on Wednesday, February 15 at 1:45 p.m. as an early-release film. The film is rated G and 93 minutes; popcorn will be provided, please bring your own drink.
On February 17 and 18 new windows will be installed in the basement of the library. This project will not affect library services; however it will be followed with the installation of new energy efficient lights throughout the building in March which will require a few days closure of the building. This Energy Retrofit project is overseen by the county commissioners with funding from the county, the federal government and the library foundation. Watch for more information regarding any disruption of library service.
A new military thriller is “Scarecrow Returns” by Matthew Reilly. Deep in the Arctic, a long-forgotten Soviet military base enshrouds a weapon of unimaginable destructive force – a Cold War doomsday device with the power to obliterate the planet. When a mysterious and brutal terrorist group called the Army of Thieves seizes this remote base there is only one team close enough to sabotage them – a ragtag band of Marines and civilians lead by Captain Shane Schofield, known as Scarecrow. The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books: “Princess Charm School” by Gabrielle Reyes, “Design for Disaster” by Carolyn Keene and “Ava the Sunset Fairy” by Daisy Meadows.
