Another eBook option is now available for Wyoming library card holders! Freading has over 20,000 titles that are available from a variety of small and independent publishers. All books are always available and can be checked out for 14 days. Each user is allotted a number of tokens each week that can be used to download the books and they range in token value from 4 to 1 token, with newest titles being 4 tokens. Your library card number and PIN will give you access to this additional resource. Currently, Freading works with eReaders that support the ePub format. Don’t forget that locally the Virtual Library is available for Niobrara County residents, from our homepage.

The Lennea Lewis Children’s Library will be closed for ceiling repair and the installation of new lights beginning on Monday, March 5. Materials will be available in the library basement during this time. Also, the library will be closed entirely the week of March 19 to finish installation of lights on the main floor. Library service may resume through the Carnegie entrance during that week. For more information about the closures be sure to stop buy the library.

Douglas Preston’s new book is “Gideon’s Corpse.” A plume of radiation above New York City leads to a warehouse where, it seems, a powerful nuclear bomb was assembled just hours before. Sifting through the evidence, authorities determine that in 10 days a major American city will be vaporized by a terrorist attack. Gideon Crew, tracking the mysterious terrorist cell from New York to the mountains of New Mexico, learns the end may be something worse – far worse – than mere Armageddon.

Some new titles for the young adult are “Why We Broke Up” by Daniel Handler and “Silence” by Becca Fitzpatrick.

New adult non-fiction books are “Then Again” by Diane Keaton, “Delicious G-Free: Food So Flavorful They’ll Never Believe it’s Gluten Free” by Elizabeth Hasselbeck and “Inferno: the World at War, 1939-1945” by Max Hastings.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books: “A Fairy Secret” by Christy Webster, “Fear Itself” by Andrew Clements and “Wilma Tenderfoot: the Case of the Frozen Hearts” by Emma Kennedy. New easy books include “Trouble in the Tunnel” by Reverend W. Awdry, “Suppose You Meet a Dinosaur: a First Book of Manners” by Judy Sierra and “Otis and the Tornado” by Loren Long.
