Monday, September 24 the second film in the “Play to Film” series will feature “Harvey” at 6 p.m. at the library. This classic film is 112 minutes, the evening features a light meal and Deane Tucker, PhD will facilitate discussion which will include the Wyoming Women’s Center. On Wednesday, September 26 there is an Early Release from school for the elementary grades, and the library will show the film, “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3” at 1:45 p.m. The 90 minute film is rated PG. The library will provide the popcorn, but children need to bring their own drinks.
A new fiction book is “The Lifeboat” by Charlotte Rogan. In the summer of 1914, the elegant ocean liner carrying newlyweds, Grace Winter and her husband, Henry, across the Atlantic mysteriously explodes. Henry secures Grace a seat in a life boat, which the occupants quickly realize is over capacity. As the castaways battle the elements and each other, Grace ponders the life of privilege she thought she’d found. Will she pay any price to keep it?

New titles for the young adult include “Rapture” by Lauren Kate, “My Life in Black and White” by Natasha Friend and “Behind the Lines” by Jodi Picoult.
New on the non-fiction shelf are “Teach Yourself Investing in 24 Easy Lessons” by Ken Little, “Equine Acupressure: a Working Manual” by Nancy A. Zidonis and “Double Cross: the True Story of the D-Day Spies” by Ben Macintyre.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles: “13 Secrets” by Michelle Harrison, “The Cupcake Club” by Sheryl Berk and “Take Me to the River” by Will Hobbs. Some new picture books are “My Rhinoceros” by Jon Agee, “Library Mouse: a Museum Adventure” by Daniel Kirk and “Every Cowgirl Loves a Rodeo” by Rebecca James.
