The Friends of the Library present “Doctor Noize” for the third RIF (Reading is Fun) event of the year. “Doctor Noize” brings a full Doctor Noize Live! show – complete with instruments and loop recording gizmos! This program will be held on Wednesday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Children in attendance will be able to select their very own books to keep and snacks will also be a part of the evening. Plan now to attend!

March’s featured artist is Roxanne Fish, stop in and check out her exhibit! Roxanne has been teaching art education in the Niobrara County School District for almost 20 years.

“The Clincher” is a novel by new author Lisa Preston. Rainy Dale is a twenty-something high school dropout – turned farrier, who is haunted by a secret from her past. She tracked down her childhood horse in small-town Oregon; then she stayed to build a life with her tools, steel, and forge. As a new kid in town she has an uphill battle to prove herself, but when one of her clients turns up dead, Rainy is in over her head – both as a suspect and the seeker of truth.

Other new fiction books are “A Bad Place to Die” by Easy Jackson, “The Best of Us” by Robin Carr, “Murder Has a Motive” by Francis Duncan, “Letters From Peaceful Lane” by Janet Dailey, “Remittance Man” by S.I. Soper, “Four Hundred and Forty Steps to the Sea” by Sara Alexander, “The Flimflam Affair” by Bill Pronzini and “Death by Chocolate Malted Milkshake” by Sarah Graves. Young adult author, Jennifer Lynn Barnes begins a new series with “Little White Lies” which is now available to check out.

New non-fiction titles are “Easy Way to Stop Smoking” and “Stop Drinking Now” both by Allen Carr, “Kid Confidence: Help Your Child Make Friends, Build Resilience, and Develop Real Self-Esteem” by Eileen Kennedy-Moore and “Super Powders: Adaptogenic Herbs and Mushrooms for Energy, Beauty, Mood, and Well-Being” by Katrine VanWyk.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “Finchosaurus” by Gail Donovan and “No Slam Dunk” by Mike Lupica. Newer easy titles are “Octopants” by Suzy Senior, “The Little Things Give the Loveliest Hugs” by Mark Sperring, “Five Flying Penguins” by Barbara Barbieri McGrath and “The Itsy Bitsy Sweetheart” by Jeffrey Burton.

“St. Patrick’s Day!” is the theme for Storyhour on March 12, 2019. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday for children age 3 through kindergarten. Call 307-334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
