The Friends of the Library are excited to bring Ann Lincoln’s Foam on the Range back to Lusk with Foam Party on Tuesday, August 4 at 6 p.m. The Friends will have root beer floats available and everyone is encouraged to wear suitable clothing or swimming attire, be sure to bring a towel, goggles & water shoes if you like and maybe even some dry clothes. The foam is clean, fresh, biodegradable and hypo-allergenic – and guaranteed to generate laughter and fun for all ages!

“Whistler” is the title of Ann Patchett’s newest novel. Daphne Fuller and her husband, Jonathan, notice an older white-haired man following them. The man turns out to be Eddie Triplett, her stepfather when she was nine. While their relationship was brief, it had a profound impact on them both and now that they are reunited, they have no intention of ever being separated again. “Whistler” is also available in Libby.

Other new fiction books are “Broken Dove” by Dani Francis, “The Anniversary” by Alex Finlay, “Seek the Traitor’s Son” by Veronica Roth, “Theo of Golden” by Allen Levi, “A Fortune of Sand” by Ruta Sepetys, “The Midnight Train” by Matt Haig, “The Lies They Told” by Ellen Marie Wiseman and “Ironwood” by Michael Connelly. A new young adult book is “Lies Between Us” by Jessica Goodman.

Among the newer non-fiction books are “Women Shaping the West: Stories from Wyoming” by Lindsay Linton Buk and “Ducks and Geese For Homesteads World Wide: Eggs, Meat, & Natural Pest Control” from The Farmers Library.

The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books “The Sherlock Society” by James Ponti, “The Shark Prince” by Malia Maunakea and “Secrets of Riverway” by Ashley Hards. Some of the newer picture books and readers are “Rafi and Rita” by Jarvis and Judge, “The Fluffy Futon” by  Yuichi Kasano, “Nighty Night, Dinos” by Deborah Holt Williams, “Waffles and Julius, No Hugs Please” by Ed Vere and “One Whole Hippopotamus” by Carter Higgins.

“Eight Arms To Hold You!” is the theme for Storyhour on July 28, 2026. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year for preschool-aged children. “Smile” is the theme for Toddler Time on Wednesday, July 29 from 10:30-11 a.m.
