Douglas Man Buys Service Station

George Ferguson, former proprietor of the C0-Op Service Station at Douglas, has purchased the North Side service in Lusk from Bryan Burge, according to an announcement in this Week's Herald.

The station has been operated by Lester Meade for the past 18 months under lease, and was built by Mr. Burge in 1939. Mr. Meade has been made no plans as to what he will do.

Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson came here from Portland, Ore., where he has worked in a war plant for three months but desiring to get back to Wyoming he came to Lusk. Many motorists and truckers from this area are acquainted with him.

The name of the station will be the Lusk Co-op Gas Service.

"Notice of Change of Ownership

The name of the business will remain the same, and it will be operated the same as in the past. I earnestly hope to merit the continued patronage of our many fine customers. I assure you that I will do everything possible to give the same fine service this station has always been known for.

Northside Service Building Additions and Remodeling

The North Side Service Station is taking a big step forward in improving the station and cafe facilities. The improvements are in accordance with the policy of progress that Charles Christian has adopted since purchasing the the business last December.

The remodeling and building includes the installation of 20,000 more gallons of gasoline storage, doubling the size of the Cafe, installing eight new pumps, installing two completely new and modern  bathrooms, addition of a shower room for truckers, installation of an additional pump island in front of the station and the addition of an additional pump island behind the station for trucks.

The remodeling work is being done by Oscar E. Bostrom.

Mr. Christian expects that the new and much improved cafe will be open next week. The work on the station is expected to be completed the first part of June.

When the North Side Cafe opens it will be leased to and under the management of Lester C. Miller, a former Casper resident who with his family moved to Lusk Monday.
