Ida Mae Frye
Memorial service for Ida Mae Frye, 84, was held at Peet Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dan Anderson officiating and Bob Chynoweth as speaker. Ida Frye was a long time resident of Lusk and died at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital February 4.
Ida Mae was born March 5, 1896, in Crawford, one of eight children born to Charles and Nancy Jane Youngs. Mr. Youngs was a soldier at Fort Robinson. She grew up in central Nebraska and on October 21, 1916, she married Lyle Frye in Meadow Groves, Neb. They were the parents of five children.
The Frye family moved to Wyoming in 1940 and moved to Lusk in the mid 1950's. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Myron and Aaron, her parents, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by her sons Willard of Lusk, Rueben, Chadron; daughter Marion Halligan, Lusk; four sisters, Eliza Hower, Englewood, Colo.; Rose Wickizer and Myrtle Bourn of California and Millie May of Grand Island. Nebr.; 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great- grandchildren and a host of friends.
Music was by Edna DeCastro while Wyoma Overman and Fran Chynoweth sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden." Active bearers were he grandsons Earl Frye, Darrel Frye, Dan Frye, Terry Frye, Jessie Halligan, Larry Halligan, and Merlin Frye.
Interment was in Lusk Cemetery.
