Cousin of Local People Dies Monday

Millard Earl Petty, 58, of Casper died Monday at the Cheyenne Veterans Hospital. Funeral services are this Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at the Bustard Funeral Home in Casper.

He was a cousin of Mrs. Vivian Hank, Emil Williams and Leonard Williams of Lusk and Mrs. Elma McLean of Lance Creek.

He was born November 3, 1909 to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Petty of the Kirtley community. As a small boy he made his home with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Hill Boyles, at their ranch home north of Van Tassell, where he was reared and schooled in this area.

He served in the army during World War II, and was married May 20, 1948, to Margaret Blahut of Lintz, Austria.

They moved to Casper in 1951 where he worked on various ranches and later became a truck driver. At the time of his illness he was an employee of the City of Casper.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 991 and a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his widow Margaret and son Millard E. of Casper; two brothers, Cecil of Hanna and Elmer of Conroe, Tex., two step-brothers, James and David Petty and a step-sister Mrs. Verna Moyer and numerous relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Van Hank, Leonard Williams and Emil Williams will attend the services.
