Concluding Rites Held for Former Niobrara County Resident, Walter S. Wise, on Wednesday, November 2nd

Concluding rites were held for Walter S. Wise, one-time resident of Niobrara County, at Riverton, Wyoming, at 1:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, November 2nd, from the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. John A. Thiessen officiating. Enriching the services was the singing of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset" by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rounds, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Horace Stover. Interment was made in the Mountain View cemetery with the Wind River Post No. 3628, Veterans of Foreign Wars having charge. Relatives attending the services from this community were Mrs. Lee Moore of Lance Creek and Donald Burke of Lusk.

Walter Sherman Wise, youngest son of the late Frank and Effie Wise, was born in Osceola, Nebraska, February 16, 1893 and passed quietly away at 3:15 a.m., Sunday October 30, 1955, in the Veterans Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming following an illness of four months. He had attained the age of 62 years, eight months, and 14 days.

At the age of 19, he moved with his parents to Lusk, Wyoming, where he homesteaded for a number of years. He was one of a family of six children, of whom two survive.

At Lusk, Wyoming on August 14, 1935 he was united in marriage to Blanche Burke Moire. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive.

In the fall of 1938 he moved his family to Riverton where he lived until the time of his death.

He had been a member of the Church of the Nazarene since April 5, 1953.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife Blanche; six children, Caroline Effie of Casper, Mrs. Don Walters, of Riverton; Kathryn Irene, Nellie Ethel, Howard Eugene and Barbara Ann, all of Riverton; three step-children, Robert Moore, Mrs. John Hardman and Ralph Moore all of Casper; four step-grandchildren all of Casper; one brother, Colonel H. address unknown, and one sister, Ina Kinney of Lusk, Wyoming.

Mr. Wise was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. He was a kind and loving husband, father, and friend and neighbor, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Walter Wise, Former Resident Dies Oct. 30

Walter Wise of Riverton, who lived i Lusk for many years, died Sunday afternoon, October 30, at the Veterans Hospital in Cheyenne after an illness of one month.

Funeral services ere held November 2 at one o'clock at the Church of the Nazarene in Riverton. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery with the Veterans of Foreign Wars conducting graveside ceremonies.

Mr. Wise was born Feb. 1893 at Oseola, Neb., the son of Frank and Effie Wise, and came with his parents to Lusk when a young man. He homesteaded near here for several years until World War I during which he served in the American forces.

In 1953 he was married at Lusk to Blanche Burke who survives him. Other survivors are six children: Caroline of Casper; Mrs. Don Walters, Kathryn, Nelie, Barbara and Howard, all of Riverton; three step-children, Robert Moore, of Mills, Mrs. John Hardman and Raymond Moore, both of Casper; a sister, Mrs. Ina Kinney of Lusk, and a brother, Col. H. Wise.
