E. B. Baughn, Old-Timer, Mayor of Manville, Dies at Home Monday Eve.

E.B. Baughn, 68 years old, mayor of Manville, and an old-time resident of the county, passed away quite suddenly at his home in Manville Monday evening a 8:15 o'clock. Death was caused by complications following diabetes, which was aggravated by tick fever about four years ago.

Mr. Baughn was just completing a term as mayor of Manville, and would have relinquished his duties to J. A. Manorgan within a few days. He has been a farmer and rancher in this vicinity for the past 42 years, and has a host of friends who will regret to learn of his sudden death. Mr. Baughn is survived by his wife, Jennie Irene Baughn.

Funeral arrangements have been set for 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at Manville, and several of his children are expected to arrive from distant points for the last rites. A complete obituary will appear in The Herald next week.

SERVICES HELD FOR E. B. BAUGHN AT MANVILLE

Last Rites for Manville Mayor Postponed Until Saturday So Relatives Could Be Present

Funeral services for the late E. B. Baughn, mayor of Manville, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, being postponed from Friday, because Roscoe Baughn could not arrive here Friday, due to the floods in Colorado.

Services were held from the M. E. Church, Rev. J. E. Sears officiating. The church was made beautiful by many potted plants and also many beautiful floral offerings which made the altar a bank of flowers.

Rev. J. E. Sears in his service dwelt on the fact that Mr. Baughn would be greatly missed from the town and community, as he had always given freely of his time and helped in all ways possible to make the town a better place in which to live.

Music was furnished by Mr. Charles Pfeifer of Jireh, Rev. Sears, Mrs. J. E. Sears, Mrs. John L. Weimer of Glendo, Mrs. Edna Howard DeCastro of Lusk, Miss Erma Howard of Manville, who sang several appropriate numbers. Mrs. Emma H. Richardson assisted at the piano.

The pallbearers were George H. Grant, H. B. Card, August Johnson, J. A. Manorgan, Fred W. Kettler and Clint Dern. Interment was made in the Manville Cemetery, with the Peet Mortuary in charge. Mrs. Claude Bridge had charge of the church.
