MOTHER OF MRS. N.E. HARTWELL PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Libbie Lang, Well Known in Lusk, Succumbs to Heart Attack Monday, May 30th

Mrs. Libbie Lang, mother of Mrs. Norris Hartwell, was found dead in her bed at her ranch home near Crawford on Monday, May 30th.

Mrs. Lang was a capable energetic woman very seldom ill and the news of sudden death came as a great shock to her daughter.

She had returned to the ranch only a week ago from Lusk as she has spent considerable time at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hartwell during the past few years and has many friends here who regret to hear of her passing.

Mrs. Lang leased her ranch, which is about 20 miles south of Crawford but reserved a couple of rooms in the house for her own use. She had been about the ranch as usual the day before her death but did speak of the fact that her heart seemed to bother her some and it was evidently heart trouble that caused her death.

The people on the ranch noticed that she was not around during the morning but thought she might be resting so did not try to disturb her until toward noon when they made the tragic discovery.

J.G. Hartwell, who happened to be in Crawford and his father, Dr. Hartwell went out to the ranch and had the body brought into Crawford. Then Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Hartwell drove to Lusk and the following morning took Mr. and Mrs. N.E. Hartwell and son, Norris back to Crawford.

Funeral arrangements would not be made until after the Hartwell's and other relatives arrived in Crawford. Interment will be made either there or at Mrs. Lang's old home in Iowa.
