Orin Lee, Formerly of Keeline, Dies

Word of the death of Orin Lee of Casper has been received here. Mr. Lee is a former resident of the Keeline community but has been a patient in a convalescent home in Casper for several years. He is survived by his sons, Lewis, Dick, Hardy, and Clair of Lusk and Keeline and many other relatives.

As the Herald goes to press details are lacking. Cecil Stark has gone to Casper for the remains and funeral arrangements will be made by the Peet Chapel.

Last Rites Held For Orin Lee Sunday

The last rites for Orin Lee, 73, were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock.

Mr. Lee and family had been residents of the Keeline community since 1913, when they located on homesteads northwest of the town of Keeline.

Due to ill health, Mr. Lee has lived in and near Casper for the past few years and passed away in that city, January 17, 1945, at he age of 83 years, 3 months and 14 days.

The remains were brought back to Lusk for the funeral service, at which Rev. Ezra Duncan, pastor of the Lusk Baptist Church, officiated.

Two solos were sung by Gilbert Henderson, pastor of the Gospel Hall. They were "In the Garden" and "Face to Face." Mrs. J.P. Watson was the accompanist.

Interment was made in the Jireh Cemetery, with the deceased's five sons, Lewis, Enos, Clair, Hardy and LeGrand, and one grandson, Gene Lee, acting as the casket bearers.

Orin Lee, the son of Esom and Elizabeth Jane Lee, was born at Mapleton, Iowa, October 3, 1861. He lived in that vicinity until 1880, when the family moved to Keya Paha County, Nebraska.

In 1885 he was united in marriage to Martha Knight. Six sons and five daughters were born to this union. His wife preceded him in death, passing away in December of 1938, and a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Solberg, died in 1940.

Those who survive him are his six sons and four daughters, Lewis and Enos of Lusk; Clair, Thomas of Oakville, Wash.; Mrs. Ethel Morton of Casper, Mrs. Roma Bird of Oakville, Wash.; Mrs. Winnie Hampton of Twin Falls, Idaho; and Mrs. Nellie Wylie of California. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
