Funeral services for Frank William "Bob" Fancher, age 79, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 1996, at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Rev. Helen Oates officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Fancher died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 3, 1996, at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital in Lusk. He was born Feb. 28, 1916, near Kirtley, Wyo., on the home ranch of his parents, Harlan P. and Josephine Fancher. Bob was educated in the rural school at Kirtley.

He married Viola M. Robertson on April 21, 1934. They owned and operated their ranch at Kirtley. Bob and Viola moved into Lusk where they purchased a home, but Bob still owned the ranch at Kirtley. Bob and Viola had many friends and neighbors. They enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and many other activities, but most of all Bob loved his ranch and caring for it.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Viola, on Oct. 20, 1993; one sister, Florence Sides Vaughan; one brother, Harry "Bud" Fancher who lived in Oregon; plus five infant brothers and one infant sister.

Survivors include a sister, Ila Paulson of Lusk; one brother, Floyd Fancher and his wife LeVern of Seattle, Wash.

Uncle Bobby and Aunt Viola had 21 nieces and nephews who loved them. They also loved the ranch, part of which had been homesteaded by Bob's parents in the 1890's. Bob was loved and admired by all his family and friends.

For those who wish, memorials to the Lusk Senior Center or to the Lusk Ambulance Service would by appreciated by the family.
