Harrison W. Coen

Harrison W. Coen, age 82, died Wednesday, April 20, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyo.

Graveside services were held Saturday, April 23 at the Lusk Cemetery.

He was born July 22, 1911 and was raised in Morristown, S.D. Harrison recalled his father working as a black smith making freight wagons and the Indians when they would visit the camp and trade their wares. When he was 14, Harrison caught a ride from the skating rink with Pretty Boy Floyd and Baby Face Nelson. He left home at that same time and worked on a dairy for the Younger Brothers' mother in Nevada, Mo. While there, he would talk to "Ma" Perkins and Bonnie and Clyde. He was present and witnessed the shooting of Bonnie and Clyde.

He moved to the Lusk area in 1936. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the infantry. Harrison also worked for the Chicago North Western for 31 years.

Coen is survived by a brother, Richard Coen and an aunt, Edith Coen, both of Lusk.

Bader Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
