Memorial services for Garold G. "Mick" Coen, 72, were to be Wednesday at the Peet Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Frank Blish officiating. Burial is in the Lusk Cemetery with a military graveside rite by the American Legion Wieton-Dupes Post No. 4.

Mr. Coen died Saturday, Sept. 13, 1986, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Long Pine, NE, the son of Sam and Edith Coen. He started school in Crawford, NE and moved with his family to Node in 1918. In 1929, he moved with his parents to Lusk, where he finished high school. While in school, he loved sports and played on many teams, including the football team.

Mr. Coen served nine years in the National Guard before joining the Army and serving in World War II.

He married Florence Dupes on Jan 13, 1940, in Harrison, NE. He worked in several different capacities in the Lance Creek oil fields, and was a dedicated and faithful postal worker for 30 years, delivering mail from the Keeline post office.

Mr. Coen was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, and the American Rural Mail Carrier's Association.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel; two brothers, Glen and Sam; and two sisters, Pauline McAllister and Pearl Shroyer. Survivors include his wife, Florence; son and daughter-in-law, James and Gerry Coen of Green River; his mother Edith Coen of Lusk; two brothers, Gorman of San Jose, CA and Gale of Prineville, OR; three grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial to the American Lung Association will be appreciated by the family. Peet Mortuary is a charge of arrangements.
