Louie Vierk Dies in Evanston Thursday
Louie Vierk, 82, father of Mrs. Viola Penfield and Mrs. Ambrose Kinney of Lusk, died in Evanston last Thursday. He worked many years for the Town of Lusk as garbage collector.
Mr. Vierk was born in Chicago October 6, 1878. He married Miss Grace Siverly in 1904 and they were the parents of four children. Mrs. Vierk died in 1924. He came to Lusk for his health in 1935, since he suffered with asthma. After retiring as garbage collector, he was employed at the various billiard parlors in Lusk. He went to Evanston in February.
Survivors include a son, Arthur L. Vierk, Cairo, Nebr.; three daughters, Mrs. Glen Ummel of Cairo, Mrs. Penfield, and Mrs. Kinney; a sister, Mrs. George Myers, and three brothers, Ed, Fred, and Albert. all of Cairo; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Penfield, Mrs. Glen Parmely and daughters, Mrs. Phil Fraser and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Kinney, Patricia, Janice and Gene attended the funeral which was held in Cairo Monday.
