Archie McFarlane Dies in Hospital at Colo. Springs

The funeral of Archie McFarlane will be held from the Congregational Church in Lusk, Sunday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Edwin F. Irwin officiating. The Peet Mortuary will have charge of the arrangements.

Lusk friends were grieved this week when word was received here on Tuesday of the sudden death of Archie McFarlane, former Lusk resident, at St. Francis Hospital at Colorado Springs, of a throat infection.

A telegram was first received, saying he was critically ill, and about 30 minutes later another message arrived saying he had passed away.

His father, A. E. McFarlane, and brothers, Jack, Ralph and Claude, left at once for Colorado Springs, but up to the time of going to press Thursday evening, no particulars have been received.

Archie McFarlane was born and reared in this community, was a man of sterling qualities and had a host of friends here.

He was the eldest son of A. E. and Mary Jane McFarlane and was born on March 19, 1890, at the old Lusk townsite of Silver Cliff.

He attended the Lusk schools, and later the Wyoming University for a year. During the World War he served with the A. E. F. in France.

After the war he returned to Lusk and resided here for a number of years during which time he assisted with the management of the Silver Cliff Dairy, which at that time was owned by his father.

In 1927 he left for Colorado, and has since made his home in and near Colorado Springs.

On August 22, 1928, he was united in marriage with Miss Irene Murphy of Colorado Springs. His wife and an infant daughter preceded him in death on January 4, 1931.

He is survived by his father, A. E. McFarlane; a sister, Mrs. Glen I. Willson; brother, Ralph; and half-brother, Claude, all of Lusk; brother, Jack McFarlane of Lance Creek and a half sister, Miss Kathleen McFarlane, of Douglas.

His mother and brother, George, preceded him in death.
