Rex L. Heth

Services for former lifelong resident of Lusk, Rex L. Heth, age 67, were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 1997, at the Bader Funeral home in Lusk with Reverend Delbert Dick officiating. Burial with Military Honors followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Rex died September 9, 1997, at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs, South Dakota, following a long illness. He was born at Hat Creek, Wyoming on the family's homestead to Max M. and Elsie F. Himes Heth on April 14, 1930.

He was raised and educated in the Hat Creek area north of Lusk. His lifelong career of truck driving and construction work began when he worked for Ed Hales running a dozer. His work also took him to Rawlins where he ran a dozer, to the NW Engineering Co. as a tucker, the Niobrara County Road and Bridge Department as the foreman and then at Crazy Charlie's Truck Stop hauling fuel.

He will be remembered for his service to his county during the Korean War and National Guard duty, his many years of volunteer work with the fire department, his enjoyment of hunting and fishing and his love of gardening and yard work.

Rex is survived by his wife Dovie; children- Loren Heth, Robert Heth, David Heth and Barbara Rapp, all of Lusk, Roxie Houston of Douglas, Kathy Hixenbaugh of Denver, Colorado and Pam Pridgeon of Wright, Wyoming; five step-children; twenty grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Goddard of Lusk, and Eula Swope, and brother John Heth both of Canyonville, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bonnie, one son Christopher and one brother, Jim Heth.

Memorials in the care of Loren Heth, for the Dialysis Unit of the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs, South Dakota would be greatly appreciated as their care, support and attention to Rex and his family were never failing.

Bader Funeral Home of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.
