Funeral services for Michael W. "Mick" Watson, 45, of rural Gering, who died Mon., Sept. 16, 1996, at a Casper hospital were Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996, at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with the Rev. Richard Neal Hughes officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Memorials are to the family, to the Nebraska West Diabetes Association or to the Lusk Ambulance Fund.
He was born June 19, 1951, at Scottsbluff, to Marvin B. and Leora (Andrews) Watson. He grew up and received his education through the eighth grade in Morrill, Neb. He then moved to Bridgeport, Neb., and then graduated from Bridgeport High School with the class of 1969. He attended technical college at Sidney, Neb., for two years and worked for Great Western Sugar for a time. On Dec. 31, 1984, he married Glennis Lohr in Torrington. He had worked as a social worker for the Nebraska Department of Social Services in Gering for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife of Gering; sons Chad of Gillette and Cody of Gering; daughter Chynna of Scottsbluff; father and step-mother, Marvin and Grace of Grayland, Wash.; and sister and brother-in-law Linda and Dennis Mitchell of Minitare, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
