Sam Allen Leeling

Services for Sam Allen Leeling, 68, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 22, 1992, at the Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas by Pastor Gary Gregory of Calvary Baptist Church.

Leeling died June 18, 1992, at his Douglas home following a sudden illness. He was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Kirtley, Wyo., the son of Joe and Rachel (Towl) Leeling. He grew up and was educated in Manville.

During World War II he served in the airborne division of the U. S. Army. He was then employed as a mechanic for Plain Equipment in Lusk.

He married Vera Martin. Following that marriage, he wed Grace (Rowan) Bloem on Sept, 24, 1966, in Douglas.

He worked for Knisely-Moore Construction Company in Douglas, the Converse County Road and Bridge Department and was employed with the Wyoming Highway Department. He retired in 1983.

During his employment, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and continued to work as an independent mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; three daughters, Louis Walker of Glenrock, Lois Hughes of Glendo, and Juanita Martin of Vernal, Utah; two step-children, Jack L Bloem of Glenrock and Renee Hossack of Douglas.

Also surviving are a brother, Jim Leeling of Colorado; six sisters, Bernita Kiever of Fort Collins, Colo., Eileen Allsup of Lusk, Alice Vollman and Francis Dickau, both of Douglas, Vera Strachan of Mitchell, Neb. and Virginia Linneman of Gillette; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jimmy C. Leeling and a granddaughter, Crystal L. Courtier.

Memorials to the donor's choice would by appreciated by the family.
