Mary Robertson, 86, of Lusk passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at the Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyo. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11, 2005 at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Auditorium in Lusk, with Pastor Mark Lohr officiating. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mary Elenora Seegrist Hammond Robertson was born to Winifred Valentine and Ethel Mae Turner Seegrist on Jan. 30, 1919, at her parent's homestead, south of Van Tassell.

Mary was married to John Hammond on June 4, 1936, in Harrison, Neb. John and Mary grew up together on John's mother's homestead and later purchased the home ranch. The ranch, and the Kirtley community, was a great part of Mary's life. John preceded her in death on July 5, 1982. Mary belonged to a square dance club in Harrison, Neb. Her home was always open to family and friends.

On Jan. 19, 1986, Mary and Warren Robertson were married. Warren preceded her in death, Nov. 16, 1996.

Mary is survived by her three daughters and their husbands; Evelyn and Bob Kilmer of Valentine, Neb.; Carol and Bob Zerbe of Lusk; and Norma and Dave Dufek of Lander; one sister, Dorothy O'Berg of Julesburg, Colo.; seven grandsons: Willis and Kelly Kilmer of Valentine, Neb.; Rick and Brian Zerbe of Lusk; Craig Zerbe of Denver, Colo.; Joe Dufek of Seattle, Wash.; and Eric Dufek of Laramie; numerous great grandchildren; three stepchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and numerous neighbors and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Alice; and one grandson, Travis Kilmer.

Memorials are suggested to be sent to the Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 South Wilson, Casper, WY, or the Niobrara County Search and Rescue, C/O Niobrara County Sheriff, Lusk, WY 82225.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
