Edward Rumney, Resident 59 Years Dies Sun.

Edward Rumney, 83, resident of Wyoming for 59 years died at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital Sunday following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Peet Chapel with the Rev. Frank Bozart of the Open Bible Church officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was the organist and Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. C.W. Jervis sang, "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God to Thee."

Pallbearers were Robert Dixon, Leonard Sedgwick, Grant Sutherland, Sam Rennard, Harold Hammel and Charles Hansen Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were; Fred Hanson, Anthon Hansen, John Lorenzen, Charles Hansen, Billy Hansen, C. R. Cooksey, Joe Traphagan, Fred Robison and Art Dalgarno.

Edward Rumney was born in Hellifield, England March 8, 1881 the son of Robert and Mary Greenwood Rumney. He came to Wyoming in 1905 and soon after engaged in the sheep industry with Anthony Wilkinson, locating on the Bridle Bit range. Later he filed on a homestead on Lance Creek.

In 1919 he and Hannah Wilson of Rochdale, England were married at Hot Springs, S. Dak. In 1910 he disposed of his sheep and went into the cattle business. He retired in 1944 purchasing a home in Lusk where he has resided since.

He is survived by one son, James Edward of Lance Creek and one daughter, Mrs. Julius Peterson, and seven grandchildren.
