Graveside Rites In Lusk Tuesday For Lydia Bryant
Graveside service was held in Lusk June 25 at 10:00 a.m. for Mrs. Edward (Lydia Helena) Bryant who died in childbirth in Las Cruces, N.M., June 18. The service was conducted by the Rev. Beuferd Anderson.
Lydia Helena Weigmann was born Oct. 29, 1933 the youngest of seven children in St. Galen, Switzerland. She grew up in Weismar East Germany. In 1952 she escaped to Holland and became a Dutch citizen. Later she went to Heidelburg to be near a brother and there met and married Edward Bryant who was serving in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are her husband and three children, Lisa 4, Katharina 2 and baby Eric; two sisters in East Germany, one sister in South Africa and a brother in Heidelburg. Her parents and two brothers died previously.
Edward Bryant is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. DeGering of Lusk and the grand nephew of Myrtle and Olive Hunter all of Lusk.
