Betty Lou Golden

TORRINGTON, WYOMING - Memorial services for BETTY L. GOLDEN, 83, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Lohr officiating. Burial of the ashes will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Betty died at her home on November 9, 2014 and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society or Heart Research. Betty was born November 6, 1931 in Lusk, Wyoming the daughter of Glenn and Iris (Lohr) Erlewine. She grew up and received her education in Lusk graduating Lusk High School in 1949. She married Hugh Golden on August 27, 1950 in Torrington, Wyoming. She sold Avon in California for ten years and was a bookkeeper for her family's Arco Station. She also worked in sales and did other bookkeeping jobs. Betty and Hugh lived in Harrison, Nebraska before moving to Torrington in 1989. While in Torrington she worked as a checker and ran the fashion department at the local Pamida store. She retired in 2002.

When she was in California Betty taught at her church in the "Each One Teach One" program. She enjoyed doing puzzles mainly crosswords.

Betty is survived by a brother Teddy Erlewine of Rapid City, South Dakota; two sisters Gladys Stellpflug of Lusk, Wyoming and Garnet Heckert and her husband Donald of Van Tassell, Wyoming; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hugh; an infant sister Terry Erlewine a twin to Teddy; a brother Glenn Erlewine a triplet to Gladys and Garnet; a son Hugh Byron Golden; a daughter Barbara Coull; and a granddaughter Karry Pollock.
