Dixie Del Moss

Dixie Del Shoopman-Foley-Moss, 76, of Lincoln, passed away July 4, 2016 in Lincoln, NE after a short illness.

Mrs. Moss was born May 11, 1940 to Harold & Laura (Boyd) Shoopman in Wheatland, WY. She was the granddaughter of Del and Jessie Shoopman. Del served as sheriff of Niobrara County from 1937 to 1948. The Shoopman's ranched at Keeline and at one time owned and operated the Silver Cliff Hotel.

Dixie was the daughter of Ed and Laura Foley, long time residents of Lusk. She graduated from NCHS in 1957 and graduated from Chadron State College in 1961 with a bachelor's degree in education.

Dixie worked for the State of Nebraska and Guardian Angels Home Care in Lincoln prior to her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her children: Teresa Vanderzee, Simeone Benza, Paul Moss (Sheri) of Lincoln, NE; sister, Connie Fernau of Lovell, WY and brother, Terry (Trisch) Foley of Powell, WY; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Dixie's Life will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln 68510.

At the request of the family there will be no viewing/visitation. Dixie's wishes were for cremation.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorials are suggested to Tabitha Hospice, 4720 Randolph St, Lincoln, NE 68510.
