Virginia Gaukel Dies In Denver Hospital

Virginia Arlene Gaukel, 6, daughter of Clarence and Alma Gaukel of Denver, died in the Colorado General Hospital Aug. 31 from a kidney ailment.

Rosary was held in the Peet Chapel at 8:00 p.m., Sept. 3 with Rev. McBrien in charge.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Leo's Catholic Church with Rev. McBrien officiating. A choir composed of George Gibson, Miss Georgeann Gibson, Gene Panno, Miss Pauline Bruch, Mrs. Bernice Clark, and Denice Reine sang "O Sacred Heart," "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Ave Maria."

Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery. Casket bearers were: Gerald Brooks, Donald Brooks, Kenneth Gaukel and Royce Nelson.

Virginia is survived by her parents, two sisters, Dianne, 5, and Irene, 3. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gaukel of Keeline are the paternal grandparents and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Heins also of Keeline are the maternal grandparents.

Virginia Arlene Gaukel, 6-Year-Old Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gaukel, Dies in Denver, Colorado

Final rites were held at ten o'clock Tuesday morning, September 4th, in St. Leo's Catholic Church of Lusk, for Virginia Arlene Gaukel, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gaukel of Denver, Colorado, and former residents of the Keeline community.

Father M. J. McBrien, pastor of St. Leo's conducted the services and also officiated at rosary services held at eight o'clock, Monday evening, in the chapel of the Peet Funeral home.

During the services held Tuesday morning, St. Leo's choir composed of the Misses Pauline Bruch, Denise Reine, Bernice Clark, Jean Panno and Georgeann Gibson and George Gibson, sang "O Sacred Heart," "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Ave Maria." Mrs. Henry L. Wasserburger presided at the organ.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery with Royce Nelson, Garry Brooks, Donald Brooks and Kenneth Gaukel bearing the remains to their last resting place.

Virginia Arlene Gaukel was born October 31, 1944 in Denver, Colo., the eldest daughter of Clarence and Alma Gaukel. She had been ill for a number of years, suffering from a kidney ailment, and passed away on Friday, August 31, 1951 in Colorado General Hospital in Denver, at the age of six years and ten months.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gaukel and two sisters, Diana, 5, and Irene, 3; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo C. Heins, and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gaukel, Sr., all of Keeline, Wyo. and numerous other relatives.
