Funeral Services For Jalmer Thon Held Saturday

Funeral services for Jalmer Thon were held Saturday afternoon from Peet Chapel with Rev. Otha B. Holcomb officiating. Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery.

A male quartet composed of James Willson, Jesse Rice, Lee Johnsonbaugh and Richard Johnsonbaugh sang "Rock of Ages". A violin solo, "Beyond the Sunset", was played by Lee Johnsonbaugh. Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist.

Active pallbearers were Robert Powell, Eugene Willson, George Gibson, Allen Fosher, George Hillan and Jesse McCormick. Honorary pallbearers were C. W. Spacht, Joe Leimser, Fred Bertram, Anthon Hansen, Clarence Patten, H. W. Morgan, William Bredthauer, M. A. Fosher, and Frank Brooks.

Jalmer Thon was born February 22, 1888 at Clearwater, Nebr., the son of Andrew and Marie Thon.

His childhood was spent in Nebraska and Minnesota. He married Miss Anna May Armstrong at Elgin, Nebr. May 24, 1910. They homesteaded five miles west of Lusk where they resided for 41 years. They were the parents of four children.

In early life he was associated with the Park Center Community Church at Clayridge, Nebr., and in recent years has been an active member of the Baptist Mens Fellowship.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Johnnie A. of Lusk, Bernard F. of Keeline, Elmer F. of Denver, and one daughter, Mrs. Vesta Thomas of Keeline; six grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Susanna A. Bernsten, Hayward, Calif., Mrs. Anna Lisle, Naches, Wash., Mrs. Sigrid Olds, Turlock, Calif., and Mrs. Ester Anderson, Clearwater, Nebr.

Jalmer Thon Dies At Home Tuesday

Jalmer Thon, 70, of Lusk, died at his home Tuesday evening from a heart ailment. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from Peet Chapel with Rev. Otha B. Holcomb officiating.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Johnnie A. Lusk, Bernard F., Keeline, and Elmer F. Denver; one daughter, Mrs. Lee Thomas, Keeline; and four sisters, Mrs. Amelia Berntsen Hayward, Calif. Mrs Sigrid Olds, Turlock, Calif., Mrs. Anna Lisle, Wenatchee, Wash. and Mrs. Esther Anderson, Clearwater, Nebr.
