Glenn L. Erlewine

Funeral service for Glenn L. Erlewine, one of a set of triplets born here 45 years ago, was held in Casper last Wednesday. Mr. Erlewine died suddenly April 12 while he and his wife Mary were doing chores at their Pleasant Valley Stallion Station in Lamoille, Nev., near Elko.

Mr. Erlewine was born Oct 8, 1935, at the Lusk home of his parents, Iris and Glenn "Moon" Erlewine. The birth of Glenn and his two sisters Gladys and Garnet was a first for Niobrara County and Dr. W. E. Reckling, the attending physician. Many presents were showered on the "now famous youngsters" by friends and admirers, according to an announcement of their birth in The Lusk Herald.

Glenn was reared and educated in Lusk and graduated from Lusk High School in 1954.

He served in the Army for two years, and following his discharge, he returned to Wyoming where he worked for a seismograph company for about a year. In 1957, he moved to Casper where he worked for Clausen and Hawks Construction until he was employed by the Casper Fire Dept. in 1958.

In 1961, he went into the construction business as a building contractor, Brennan and Erlewine Construction Co., until 1970, at which time he became an independent developer and contractor developing the Westland Park subdivision. Since that time, he had been in Construction primarily in Casper, with the exception of several years in Lusk and Colorado. Last November, he moved to Elko where he established the stallion station.

On August 2, 1959 he married Mary Bies Brownell of Casper.

Mr. Erlewine was a member of the Moose and Eagle Lodges in Casper.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Esther Peterson of Utah, Iris and Brenda Erlewine, both of Colorado, Debbie Lewis of Casper, and Pattie Tibbetts of Rapid City, S. D.; two sons, Mike Brownell and Bobby Brownell, both of Casper; a sister, Betty Lou Golden of Harrison, Gladys Stellpflug of Fort Laramie and Garnet Heckert of Van Tassell and brother Ted Erlewine of Rapid City. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Mark Lohr, pastor of the Church of Christ of Lusk and a cousin of Mr. Erlewine, conducted the funeral service, played the organ and sang at Bustard funeral Home, Casper. Interment was at Piedmont, S.D., Thursday afternoon in the family cemetery of his wife's family.

Honorary pallbearers were H. M. "Whitey" Brusel, Pete Banks, Gar Ulrich, Rae Keller, Stan Aamodt, Russ Coates and Ray Shafto, all of Casper.
