Clara J. (Rice) Fullerton

Funeral services for Clara J. (Rice) Fullerton, age 85, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 1995, at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with the Rev. David Boehnke of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Casper officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery, beside her husband, Ivan Iral Fullerton.

Mrs. Fullerton died Friday morning, October 27, 1995, at the Life Care Center in Casper. She was born December 14, 1909, in Newcastle, Nebraska, the youngest daughter of John and Anna Rice. The family moved to Wyoming and homesteaded near Van Tassell, Wyoming. Clara attended school in Van Tassell and Lusk. She attended Wayne State College and started teaching at the age of 18. She also attended Chadron State College and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1963. Clara taught school in Van Tassell, Jireh, Lance Creek, Sanddraw, Morton, Arapahoe and Crowheart where she retired after 32 years of teaching.

She married Ivan Iral Fullerton of Jireh on March 1, 1934. Clara was a member of the School Exhibits Judging Team and the Wyoming State Fair in Douglas of seven years. She also served as Postmistress at Kirtley for a period of time. In 1947 the Fullerton's moved to Riverton, where Clara was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Missouri Synod Church and was active in A.L.L and L.W.M.L. Due to failing health, Clara moved to Casper where she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church there.

Besides her parents and husband, Clara was preceded in death by a sister Mildred and a brother, Willis.

Survivors include: three daughters, Arlene D. Good of North Hollywood, Calif., Bonnie J. Schual of Ontario, Calif., and Carla Chun of Corona, Calif.; two sons, Glen Fullerton and Gary Fullerton, both of Casper; sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with the eighth due this spring.
